Oral Presentation guidelines

Please submit your presentation by sending it to workshop@georg.cluster.is no later than November 8th.
Your PowerPoint presentation is required before congress the in order to facilitate the arrangements for downloading your file onto the computer in the conference room. You will be able to make last minute changes to your presentation at the congress.

As a precaution, all speakers must also bring a copy of their PowerPoint presentation to the event on a USB memory stick.

  • Each presenter will be scheduled for a total of 15 min (12 min presentation + 3 min Q&A).

  • Please keep in mind that the time schedule is fixed so that attendees may move between sessions.

  • We are on a tight schedule. Please make sure to adhere to your allotted speaking time!

  • Please proceed to your meeting room 10-15 minutes before session start time in order to introduce yourself to the session chair and to familiarize yourself with the set-up.

  • Preferably all presentations should be prepared for PowerPoint 2013 on Windows-based PCs in 16:9 ratio.

  • Use of individual laptop computers is not permitted, unless negotiated beforehand.  Please note that the “Presenter View” may not be available.  If you need your notes, please bring them on paper.

Poster guidelines
  • Mounting of poster - 24 November, 8:00-9:00

  • Poster Presentation Session - 24 November 14:15-15:15

  • Dismounting of poster - 25 November until 16:30

Authors should make sure that they are next to their poster ready to present it in the poster presentation session and are also strongly encouraged to be near the poster during coffee and lunch breaks in order to present it to as many people as possible.

  • All poster presenters are required to prepare a physical printed poster

  • The Maximum size of the poster shall not exceed 91.44 cm wide by 152.4 cm high (A0).

  • Mounting materials will be supplied by the Congress.

  • In preparing the poster for the session, we suggest limiting the amount of printed material to the least possible. If supplemental material is desired, those may handed out to those viewing the poster.

  • Poster material must be prepared in advance and text should be large enough to be read from a distance of 1 meter or more.

  • Each poster must have a top label indicating the title of the paper, the names of the authors and their affiliations. The size of the characters for the title should be at least one inch high.

  • Keep illustrative material simple. Charts, drawings and illustrations are usually similar to those used in making slides - preferably with bolder, heavier figures. Simple use of color is effective for adding emphasis.

Questions about abstract submission should be emailed to info@georg.cluster.is
